Devshree Deogarh BlogApr 14, 2022The Haveli Haven - MayaSpeakBandra, IndiaThis was my first experience in a homestay- correction- a boutique residence- correction- a non hotel experience! Let me tell you how it went. The first morning itself I realised that there was no intercom to call for my tea. It was absolutely delightful to peep outside and ask a passing waiter for help. It felt like home. Birds twittering across the lush lawns, meeting with the wonderful Thakur Shatrunjay and his wife Bhavna and getting to know the culture and history of times gone by, catapulted the start of the day. For me that was it. This couple had come out beautifully out of the Pandemic. Their 8 suites with ornate restrooms looked and felt magnificent at 400 sq ft. Fluffy towels, great menus of Rajasthani fare cooked to perfection left me with memories that I was not going to forget easily.Humble staff, happy picnics, even looking for the elusive leopards that were known to inhabit the many granite mines that Deogarh is famous for kept us busy on our feet. The climate belied the weather graph as the breezes spoilt us rotten, and here we were in Rajasthan experiencing the best . Would I go back? and do it all over again.Yes I would..
